How it works

Unpack, fold, build.

A ORIKIND kit is a box of card sheets that are already cut. Here is what happens between opening the box and the finished animal.

From sheet to object

Three moves. One evening.

No glue, no scissors: everything is already cut and scored, and the double-sided tape is in the box. Only the fun of folding is left.

01 / 03

  1. 01

    Pop out

Pieces pop out of the sheet with a light press. Each one carries its number on the back.

  2. 02

    Fold

The lines are already scored. An unmarked line folds towards you, a small Λ away from you. The 3D tutorial shows every fold.

  3. 03

    Join

A strip of double-sided tape on each tab. Each tab carries the same number as the edge it slides under: just match the pairs.

  1. 01

    Pre-cut sheets

240 g card dyed through. No white edge, no ink.

  2. 02

    Numbered pieces

The number is on the back. The outside stays bare, matt paper.

  3. 03

    Double-sided tape

Cut to the width of the tabs. No glue.

  4. 04

    Illustrated guide

Colour assembly map and build order.

  5. 05

    3D tutorial

A code opens every piece in 3D in your browser.

In the box

Everything is there. Really everything.

Open the box tonight, put the object on the shelf before the film ends.

Tips from the workbench

The paper
240 g card coloured through. It holds its shape and folds cleanly along the creases.
Popping pieces out
Pieces are held by thin bridges. Push them gently from the back rather than pulling.
Pre-folding
Everything is already creased. Fold each line once dry before gluing: the piece takes its shape.
Fold symbols
A small grey Λ on the line: mountain fold, away from you. A line with no mark: valley fold, towards you (older templates still carry a small V). The 3D tutorial shows each fold.
Tabs
Each number is printed twice: on a tab and on the edge that takes it. Match the two identical numbers and the tab slides under that edge.
Tape
The kit contains pre-cut double-sided tape: lay a strip on the tab, peel off the backing, press for a few seconds. No glue. For a PDF pattern printed at home, a glue stick or your own double-sided tape will do.
Order
Follow the guide's steps in order, piece by piece. Close the last piece slowly.
Finish
Plain paper is already the finish. A light coat of matt varnish protects from dust if you like.

And the PDF pattern?

If you prefer to print yourself, every animal also exists as an A4 PDF: print at 100% on 160 to 220 g paper, cut along the solid lines, score the folds with a ruler and an empty ballpoint pen. The printed side ends up inside.
